Ho! Ho! Ho!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!
So many gift baskets to choose from!

Getting crafty!
The 16th Annual Holiday Pancake Breakfast was a huge success thanks to the hard work of the Pancake Committee and the students pre-selling tickets. We had 223 guests, including 66 children who came to enjoy a hot pancake breakfast, live music, gift basket raffle, crafts for children and of course, visiting with Santa.

Full Practice:

Monday - 8:00am-Noon

Tuesday - 8:00am-Noon

Wednesday - 8:00am-11:00am (shortened for orientation)

AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL SCHEDULE CHANGE

Beginning Monday 8/27 our rehearsal schedule will be:
Every

Monday 3:30pm-5:30pm

Wednesday 6:00pm-9:00pm

Through October

Please mark your calendar, communicate with employers etc. so all students can attend so we can rehearse for success. Student attendance at rehearsals is graded and, because this is a performance group, attendance has a huge impact on the experience for all members.

Students should be practicing at home to prepare for full rehearsal, so, parents, please request private performances by your student. They have a growing repertoire to master.

Reporting Absences

If a student is unable to attend a rehearsal please email Mr. Grom at adgrom@gmail.com. A parent email explaining the absence will help me keep an accurate record of student absences. Please remind your student to clear their work schedule so they can attend band practice.

If you have any questions or concerns please free to contact Mr. Grom at adgrom@gmail.com.

Remember to order your Marching Orangemen shirts by Thursday 8/23.

Mr. Grom

T-Shirt Orders

Hello Fans of the Marching Orangemen,

We have completed (survived) another Ellet Band Camp. What a great start to a great year.

This is a very special group of students and I am confident they will create a successful year for the Ellet Band. On behalf of the instructors and myself I would like to thank all of the parents, grandparents and friends who helped with the support services during camp. The students and staff were well fed and cared for, we couldn't do it without you.

We will be placing another "Marching Orangemen" T-Shirt order this week. If you would like to place an order click on the link and follow the instructions.

Let's make a sea of Orange and White in the stands. We want the students to see exactly where their fans are sitting.

Marching Orangemen T-Shirt Order Form

From the bottom of my heart I thank you for giving us all the opportunity to work with your children. I look forward to seeing you in the stands and hearing your cheers when the Marching Orangemen take the field.

Medical Form and Physicals

Where are you taking your children for their physical this year? Last year I made the mistake of going to the pediatrician and then paying $130 because my insurance didn't cover sports physicals! Today I called Acme on Wedgewood and spoke with Lauren at the Express Care Clinic. She said there is less waiting time earlier in the day. Then I looked online to see if there were other clinics available and found Walgreen.

Acme Express Care Clinics - $40 - they take walk-ins,  Monday - Friday 9:00 - 6:30, Saturday 9:00 - 2:30, Sunday noon - 3:30. Note: if your child is on Medicaid you must get the physical with your Primary Physician.

Walgreen Take Care Clinics - $39 -  check the website for locations. You will need to schedule an appointment.

Here is the Medical Consent Form and OHSAA Physical Form. Just click to open and print document.

Parents, have you tried either of these clinics? Do you know of any other places we could add to the list? Please leave your comments in the box below.

Band camp is one of the most important weeks of the marching band season. We learn our show, develop our marching and playing skills and, most importantly, get to know one another.
Although camp is at Ellet, students and staff are to be isolated during the day and so we ask there be no visitors. We all need to learn to rely on each other and focus on performing together.

Band Camp Necessities
Being properly prepared for rehearsals and performances is crucial to our success.

ü Instrument, performance and care accessories
ü Flags
