Fundraiser kick-off was Thursday with game contestants Stephanie B. and Kayla W. playing "Are You Smarter Than Another Band Member". Rodney E. and Cayce P. helped distribute the pastry treats to band members after class. All of the students are trying to win an invitation to a donut party if they have 5 items ordered when they come back to school on Tuesday. Mariah J. and Chloe M. volunteered to be the band reps for the fundraiser and will keep track of daily sales. Thanks to Amber E. for helping organize and distribute the order forms to our color guards. We are excited to announce our Spring 2012 fundraising event! Each of you will have the opportunity to buy Butter Braid Pastries, Dutch Desserts, Auntie Anne’s pretzel products and Baker Jo’s cookie dough! These products are frozen and will be great to have in the freezer for Easter brunch or family get-togethers. Butter Braid Pastries are fundraiser exclusive, so be sure to stock up!

Bands in the Round was on February 14th at North High School. An exciting performance from the Ellet High School band that evening. Starting with a slow, then fast paced song Windjammer by Carl Strommen, which kept you guessing what was going to happen next and took you through an adventurousjourney on the sea. A special echo trumpet trio was the heartbeat of the whole song performed by Rodney E, Jason M, and Jeremy E.
A change up from the other songs performed that night, Foundry by John Mackey left people utterly confused. Its interesting percussion line consisted of bowls, car parts, poles, and many more exciting items that helped give the song it's unique sound. The end result of the astounding performance were a 4 out of 4 and a 3 out of 4 from the attending judges. Good job Ellet!
