Weekly update 8/30-9/5

Practice will be held 3:30-5:30 on Monday and Wednesday.

The Football game this week is at home against Tallmadge. Call time is 5:00 PM.  Pre-sale tickets are available at Winners Choice, or at the high school for $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Tickets at the gate are $6.00.

Another Bingo opportunity has been generously given to us by the EAAA. A total of 6 volunteers are needed to work Bingo on Wednesday Sept. 2nd from 5 pm to 9:45 pm. Please call Cathy Isenhart @ 330-388-0281. We also have our scheduled Bingo date on Sunday September 13th from 11am - 4pm. Three volunteers are needed to fulfill that obligation.

Bingo dates are a very easy way to raise funds for our organization. By fulfilling one day of Bingo we can purchase an entire uniform for a student to wear. One new uniform costs a little over $400.00, so please consider donating your time to helping with Bingo.

Our first Band booster meeting is on September 10th at 7PM in the band room at Ellet. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend these meetings and its a great way to get involved and to be kept informed of upcoming events.

 Our annual hoodie and sweatshirt order is due on September 11th. If you have questions or need forms please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975. 

Please add the Thank you concert to your calendars. It will be held October 27th at 7 PM in the New Gym at the high school.

Finally, our 25th Annual Craft Show is on Saturday, November 14th. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need as may volunteers as possible that day. Its a fun and busy day that goes by quickly! Please add this date to your calendar and come join in on the fun!

GOOD MORNING BAND FAMILIES!


Practice this week will be on Monday August 24th 3:30-5:30 pm and Wednesday August 26th 3:30-5:30 pm. Call time for the Game @ Springfield on Friday August 28th is at 5:00 pm @Ellet.


Volunteers for chaperones and pit crew are still needed for Friday, Please call Kelley Stillman @ 234-200-9115 if you would like to help.


Acme Community Cash Back Program started on August 20th. Please save your Acme receipts and turn them into Roger Hoover, or the Acme Receipt box in the band room. This program earned the band over $325.00 last year by simply keeping receipts! The Program runs from August 20th -January 6th. 

Our March-a-thon was a fabulous start to this season! Currently the band has received $1508.73 in donations! Thank you to everyone who helped out, and raised money! If you still have donations please turn them in this week to Amy McPherson, or Mr. Grom.

The music notes turned out beautifully, a huge thank you to Jason Steele, Kelley Stillman, Marsha Fox, and Allison Fox for helping paint them and putting students names on them. They were also a huge success, and raised over $422.00!

Bingo also was covered this week thanks to Cathy Isenhart, Roger Hale, and Kristin Miller! Thank you all for stepping in on such short notice!

If your student ordered a new duffel bag they should be in by September 4th.

Good Afternoon!


Reminders!

March-a-thon is Friday August 21st 5pm-8pm. We will march down to Hyre to kick off the Ellet Raiders season and head back up to finish the march-a-thon.  Students should wear their "I survived" shirt, navy band shorts, and comfortable tennis shoes, no flip flops or sandals please!   Remember that who ever raises the most in donations gets to give Mr. Grom a pie in the face! 

We will also be painting our music notes at the stadium that night, cost is $10.00 for each student.  We will be collecting Thursday at practice, and on Friday during the painting process if you haven't had a chance to send in the flyer and the money.

Good Evening Band Family, 

Sadly, as many of you have heard, the Firestone Marching Band Trailer was vandalized yesterday inside and out.  There will be a clean-up tomorrow Monday August 17, 2015 from 5PM -9PM to help them clean up and repair this necessary piece of equipment for the marching season.

Good Morning Band Families!

What a fabulous week!  Thank you to all who came up and helped at Band Camp.  Whether you  baked, sewed, cleaned up, washed dishes, served lunch or dinner, donated food, cut up veggies and fruit, or stayed the night on Friday to help out, None of these things would be possible if you did not give your precious time to volunteer with Band Camp!

This week our schedule lightens up with post camp week.  The students will practice from 8AM -Noon on Tuesday through Thursday. 


Tuesday August 18, 2015 is Picture day. The Photographer from Tallmadge Photography will start at noon taking photos of the students. You received the photo information in your green band informational folder at the Band Camp parent meeting last Sunday.  Payment needs to be in the form of cash, credit card, or money orders only.  They do not accept checks.  Please insure your student brings their black socks and black marching shoes!


Our March-a-thon will begin at 5 PM on Friday August 21, 2015!  There has been a change to the location we will be marching to.  We will now march down to Hyre and preform at the Ellet Raiders stadium to help kick off their season.  Afterwards we will head back up to the High School to complete the march-a-thon.  The students need to wear their "I survived " shirts, navy band shorts, ball cap and comfortable tennis shoes.  No sandals or flip flops!  They also need to bring their pledge sheets and donations, as the student who raise the most in donations gets the honor of giving Mr. Grom a pie in the face!!!


Our music note fundraiser will also be done that night!  We will be painting music notes on the cement close to where the band sits in the stadium with your student's first name and last initial.  The cost for this is $10.00 and it is $5.00 for each additional band sibling.
We are off to a fabulous start this year!  Thank you for all your support, and lets keep this momentum going!!!

BAND CAMP TIME!!!

The time has arrived, its officially Band Camp Week!

Parents and students should arrive at Ellet Sunday, August 9th at 1PM.


Parents will attend an informative meeting in the Early Childhood Education room at Ellet, (look for all the cars fairly close to the stadium).  You will receive pertinent information relating to the activities your student will be involved in throughout the year and you will also be able to sign up to chaperone, or volunteer at our many activities and fundraisers.


Students- Remember your water bottle, dot book, music, instrument, sunscreen, and PENCIL!!!  

 Students will march to Eastgate Lanes after dinner for bowling.  They can be picked up there between 8-815 pm!

SUNSCREEN, MUSIC LYRE, PENCIL, WATER BOTTLE ,AND COMFORTABLE TENNIS SHOES!

MANDATORY PARENT MEETING AT 1:00PM IN THE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION ROOM.  IMPORTANT INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN OUT, AND SIGN UP SHEETS FOR CHAPERONES, BAND CAMP VOLUNTEERS, AND OTHER EVENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE!

WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST WITH THE WEEK OF BAND CAMP.  ANY TIME THAT YOU CAN COME UP AND HELP SERVE A MEAL, ASSIST IN CLEAN-UP IS APPRECIATED!  PLUS, YOU GET TO MEET SOME OTHER PARENTS AND GET TO SEE YOUR STUDENT HAVING FUN!  TO VOLUNTEER, PLEASE CONTACT:
