Good Afternoon Band Family!


A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the pancake breakfast!  Students, you were amazing!  Parents, we know where they have learned there citizenship skills from and it is greatly appreciated!  It was a very successful morning and without each and everyone  that worked it, or donated to it, it would not be possible to host events like this without all of you.


There is a Pancake/Craft show wrap up meeting on Wednesday, December 9th at Artisan Coffee, 662 Canton Road, at 6:30 PM.  Please come and give suggestions and comments to help us make next years events even more successful!


If you still have discount card money please turn it in this week to Cathy Isenhart.  330-388-0281.


December 15th the Holiday Concert will take place at 7pm.  We are planning to do a bake sale that evening if you would like to donate a few treats please feel welcome to do so.  Please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975 if you have questions.  We will be opening up at 6:30 so you can drop  things at the table when students are dropped off for call time.

Good Evening Band Family!!!

Hopefully everyone is recovered from the busy holiday weekend!  This is what is happening this week!


Monday 11/30  Discount card monies are due in to Cathy Isenhart.  


Also due 11/30 are Pancake breakfast pre-sale tickets.  Turn in your money for the 5 tickets you were given to sell,  to either Jennifer or Jessica Fox, and the first nine students win a prize!!! A Gift card to Artisan coffee or Subway!!!


There is a Restaurant Day @ Applebee's in  Brimfield on Wednesday, December 2nd!  There will be flyers in the band room your student can bring home to show that day when placing your order.  The fundraiser goes all day and all evening long, so enjoy!


If  you want to donate a basket to the Pancake Breakfast Raffle please bring them to set up on Friday Evening from 6-8PM


Sign up sheets are already up in the band room and all students needs to make sure they are signed up to work Pancake breakfast!  Wear your ugly Christmas shirt or sweater and get ready to have lots of fun!


Students and Adults planning to help with set up need to be at the Bingo Hall on Friday, December 4th at 6:30 PM- 8:00PM.


Students need to report to the Bingo Hall at 8AM on Saturday December 5th.  You should be finished working by 12:30 PM.

Good Morning Band Family!

A huge thank you to each and every parent, student, and grandparent that volunteered and helped at the Craft Show this weekend!   Without each and everyone of you, the Craft show would not be the great success it is!  


Pancake Breakfast planning meeting is on Tuesday November 17th at 7 PM at Artisan Coffee @ Albrecht and Canton Road.  Please try to come out and help plan this fun morning.


Your student will be receiving a packet this week with a combination of local retailers discount cards.  Each card sells for $10.00.  Please ask your student about this new fundraiser.  If you have questions, please contact Cathy Isenhart @ 330-388-0281.



The Santa Parade for downtown Akron is on Saturday, November 28th.  Step off is at 11:00 AM.  Please try to pick up a Santa hat for your student at one of the Dollar stores in the next two weeks.  They will be wearing Santa hats in place of their traditional helmets that day with their uniforms, to add a more festive look, and can also wear them for the Holiday Pancake breakfast on December 5th.  Please stay tuned for call times and location for that morning.


If your student is interested in Solo and Ensembles, please have them see Mr. Grom as soon as possible.

The Band Booster meeting for Thursday, November 12th at 7:00  is cancelled.   We will keep you informed as to when it will be rescheduled.  Thank you and hope to see many of you at Craft Show on Saturday!

Good Morning Band Families!!!


If you are loaning a dolly or a cart to use at the craft show please put your name on it so it is easily identifiable to return to your family at the end of the day.


Hot dogs,  hot dog buns, sloppy joe mix and hamburger buns can be dropped off anytime during Friday set up from 3:30-6:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Raffle baskets donations should also be dropped off during that time.  


Students should plan to stay after school on Friday until around 6-630 PM.  The more help we have the quicker set up will go!


Please ask your student if they have signed up to cover a shift.  Yesterday, as of 10 AM there were still 30 students that have yet to sign up for a shift.  If they have a prior commitment please let us know so they can be excused.  Sign up sheets are hanging in the band room.   This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we truly need all the help we can get to make it successful!


There is a band booster meeting Thursday evening at 7PM in the band room and parents are encouraged to attend.

Good Morning Band Family!


Its Craft Show Week!!!


There are a few other things going on this week.  There is a Band Booster meeting on Thursday evening at 7 PM.  


Goodie Factory fundraiser will be available for pickup on Thursday after school.  


Please remember that students will be staying after school on Friday til around 6 PM to assist in setting up for the craft show.  If you signed up to bring in hot dogs and buns or sloppy joes and buns they can be dropped off in the cafeteria any time after school.


All students need to make sure they have signed up for either shift on Saturday or for the entire day!  The sign up sheets are in the band room.  Parents, if you can help on Saturday please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975 so we can put you on the schedule.


We still need Raffle Baskets.  You can drop off baskets before 6 PM on Friday November 13th in the cafeteria.

Good Evening Band Families!


Some important dates to put on your calendar if you have not already done so:

Craft show planning meeting Tuesday November 3rd @7PM at the McDonalds on East Market and Mogadore road.  Please come out and see what it takes to plan our biggest fundraiser of the year!

Pancake Breakfast Planning Meeting Wednesday, November 4th @ 6:30 Pm at the McDonalds on East Market and Mogadore Road.  Time to start planning  for the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus!

Tag Day is Saturday November 7th in shifts of 10 AM-12 PM AND 12 PM-2 PM.  Roger Hoover is still looking for 3 fabulous parents to work 3, 2 hour shifts!  Please call Roger at 330-697-3550 if you can help out.  Students can take their  uniforms home on Friday after school and return them on Monday to the uniform room.  They should also wear their Ellet stands ball cap in place of their helmet.  Sign up sheets for students will be in the band room on Monday, please check with your student to insure that they have signed up for a post.

Craft show will be held on Saturday November 14th.  Attendance from all students is mandatory for this huge event.  If your student has a family commitment please see Mr. Grom so they can be excused.  It is also an extremely important event that we need parental help for.  Sign ups for students will start mid week, and if you as a parent would like to help and have yet to sign up please contact Michele Ferguson @330-388-4980 or Amy McPherson @330-400-0975.

THURSDAY 10/29 3:30-4:30 SENIOR LOCKER DECORATING!!! PLEASE TRY TO STAY AFTER SCHOOL TO HELP DECORATE!!!  BOOSTERS WILL PROVIDE TAPE, STREAMERS, PICTURES,  AND PAPER.  IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE PLEASE BRING IT WITH YOU.


FRIDAY 10/30 HOME GAME AGAINST GARFIELD AND SENIOR NIGHT!  ESCORTS NEED TO BE AT THE GATE NO LATER THAN 7 PM TO GET IN TO THE GAME.  A LIST WILL BE AT THE GATE WITH ESCORTS NAMES ON IT AS WELL AS A BAND PARENT WITH YOUR SENIOR NIGHT RIBBON.


VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO WORK THE CONCESSION STAND THIS LAST NIGHT ESPECIALLY, SINCE WE HAVE 19 SENIOR PARENTS UNAVAILABLE TO WORK IT. THEY WILL HAVE THE HONOR OF ESCORTING THEIR STUDENT DOWN THE 50 YARD LINE AT HALF TIME.


LASTLY, RAINCOATS WILL BE CHECKED IN AFTER THE FRIDAY NIGHT GAME AS THIS WILL BE THE LAST GAME OF THE SEASON.

Wed. 10/21  Practice 3:30-5:30

Fri. 10/23 Game @Infocision against Firestone
Call time 5:00PM.   This is also our "PINK OUT" game so please wear your pink!  The students will be given pink shoelaces for their marching shoes and will be wearing pink plumes!

10/24  All Senior Marching Orangemen should have turned in their senior night info to Cathy Isenhart!

Mon 10/26 Practice 3:30-5:30

No Practice Monday October 12th


Fall Concert on Tuesday October 13th.  Jazz Band, Choir, and Orchestra.  7 PM Auditorium at EHS.


Wednesday Practice 3:30-5:30


Saturday, October 17th Away Football game at Buchtel.  Call time 10 AM.


We will still need 4 volunteers to cover the concession stand at Ellet on Friday night October 16th for the Firestone vs East Game. Call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975 if you would like to volunteer.


Our "Pink out" game is on October 23rd against Firestone at Infocision stadium.  Call time will be 5 PM.


Thank you concert  will be held on Tuesday October 27th.


Senior Night will be October 30th.  All Senior members were sent home Wednesday with an info packet. 


Fall Goodie Factory Fundraiser.  Your student received a fundraiser  packet on Friday October 9th.  Order forms are due October 27th.  We are asking students to please sell at least 5 items.  Call Cathy Isenhart with any questions. 330-388-0281.


Finally, if anyone would like to order Marching Orangemen hoodies, track jackets, t-shirts, sweatpants or sweatshirts please contact Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975 no later than Saturday October 17th.   We have decided to do a second order in case anyone missed the first deadline or would like to order for the Holidays.

Practice Wednesday October 7th 3:30-5:30.  All senior band members should plan to stay after practice for a short senior meeting.


Band booster meeting Thursday October 8th at 7:00 PM in the band room.  Parents please come join us.  You are all band booster members, and your support is greatly needed and appreciated.


Friday night we need 4 people to work the concession stand at the North/Garfield game that takes place at the Ellet Stadium.  Please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975 if you can help.  


Saturday October 10th Away Game @ Kenmore.  Call time is at 10AM.  


Sunday October 11th Bingo.  We still need a few volunteers to work the kitchen and sell instants. Please call Cathy Isenhart @330-388-0281 if you can help.  Bingo is an extremely important fund raising opportunity for our organization.  It is one of the easiest and most profitable ways to earn monies to support the students.  If we are unable to fill these slots we will not be given the opportunity to continue with this easy and profitable fundraiser.

Good Afternoon Band Family!

This week there will be no practice on Monday September 28th.
Practice will be held Wednesday September 30th from 3:30-5:30


Call time for Friday Night's Homecoming Football game against East is at 5 PM. 


We need 4 volunteers to work in the concession stand Friday night starting between 5:30-6:00 PM  Please call Amy McPherson @330-400-0975 if you would like to volunteer.


Looking ahead to the following weeks, if you would like to join us for our first Craft show planning  meeting it will be held at the McDonalds at East Market and Mogadore Road on October 6 at 6:30.


Our Band Booster meeting will be held at 7 PM on Thursday October 8th in the Band Room.

Good Morning!


Our Game this week is Away against CVCA.  Call time is at 5PM.  Tickets will be sold at the gate for $6.00 a person.  The address is 4687 Wyoga Lake Road Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44224.


We still need 3 volunteers to help run the concession stand at Ellet Stadium Friday evening.  Please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975 to volunteer your time!  


Car decal orders are due on Friday evening.  The large decal can be personalized with your last name and is $20.00 The small decal is $10.00.  Order forms will be in the band room tomorrow morning and I  will also have them available at the game Friday night.  If you have questions please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975.


The Akron marathon is on Saturday!  Our students will be playing to encourage the runners on their journey.  Students need to meet at 7:15 AM at 322 East Exchange street and plan to be there till 10:30 AM.  Mr. Grom will send a remind  about what students should be wearing to this event in the next day or two.  If you would like to donate doughnuts for this event please send them with your student on Friday night or Saturday morning or call Michele Ferguson @ 330-388-4980.

HOME GAME AGAINST NORTH @ ELLET.  tICKETS ARE $6.00 AT THE GATE.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE PRESALE TICKETS PLEASE STOP IN AT A WINNERS CHOICE AND PURCHASE THEM FOR $5.00 ADULTS AND  $3.00 FOR STUDENTS.

OUR TALENTED EIGHTH GRADE CLASS FROM HYRE CLC WILL BE JOINING US WITH THEIR NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR MRS. SCHWEIZER. CALL TIME IS 5:00 PM

LOOKING AHEAD ON THE CALENDAR IS OUR GAME AGAINST CVCA NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT SEPTEMBER 25TH.  CALL TIME 5 PM.

Good Afternoon Band Family!

Practice for Monday 9/14 is for Color guard only from 3:30-5:30 at Ellet.

In place of practice on Monday 9/14 Band Students will meet at the John S Knight Center 77 E. Mill Street Akron Ohio 44308 Monday 9/14 @5:15PM. They will perform around 5:45 and be finished by around 6:15. Please plan to park in the attached parking garage which will be free after 6PM. Dress code for this event is your Orangemen Polo and Jeans.

Wednesday Practice is 3:30-5:30 at Ellet and we will be joined by the eight grade class from Hyre.

We need 5 volunteers to help in the concession stand on Friday night at the game. Please call Amy McPherson@ 330-400-0975 if you can help. As a volunteer you do not have to pay to get into the game and will be given a break during the evening.

Football Game this week is at home against North. Tickets are $6.00 at the gate or you can go to Winners choice and purchase then pre-sale for $5.00 adults or $3.00 for students.

The Eighth grade band class will be joining us from Hyre that evening and will accompany the Marching Orangemen on the field.

Weekly update 8/30-9/5

Practice will be held 3:30-5:30 on Monday and Wednesday.

The Football game this week is at home against Tallmadge. Call time is 5:00 PM.  Pre-sale tickets are available at Winners Choice, or at the high school for $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Tickets at the gate are $6.00.

Another Bingo opportunity has been generously given to us by the EAAA. A total of 6 volunteers are needed to work Bingo on Wednesday Sept. 2nd from 5 pm to 9:45 pm. Please call Cathy Isenhart @ 330-388-0281. We also have our scheduled Bingo date on Sunday September 13th from 11am - 4pm. Three volunteers are needed to fulfill that obligation.

Bingo dates are a very easy way to raise funds for our organization. By fulfilling one day of Bingo we can purchase an entire uniform for a student to wear. One new uniform costs a little over $400.00, so please consider donating your time to helping with Bingo.

Our first Band booster meeting is on September 10th at 7PM in the band room at Ellet. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend these meetings and its a great way to get involved and to be kept informed of upcoming events.

 Our annual hoodie and sweatshirt order is due on September 11th. If you have questions or need forms please call Amy McPherson @ 330-400-0975. 

Please add the Thank you concert to your calendars. It will be held October 27th at 7 PM in the New Gym at the high school.

Finally, our 25th Annual Craft Show is on Saturday, November 14th. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need as may volunteers as possible that day. Its a fun and busy day that goes by quickly! Please add this date to your calendar and come join in on the fun!

GOOD MORNING BAND FAMILIES!


Practice this week will be on Monday August 24th 3:30-5:30 pm and Wednesday August 26th 3:30-5:30 pm. Call time for the Game @ Springfield on Friday August 28th is at 5:00 pm @Ellet.


Volunteers for chaperones and pit crew are still needed for Friday, Please call Kelley Stillman @ 234-200-9115 if you would like to help.


Acme Community Cash Back Program started on August 20th. Please save your Acme receipts and turn them into Roger Hoover, or the Acme Receipt box in the band room. This program earned the band over $325.00 last year by simply keeping receipts! The Program runs from August 20th -January 6th. 

Our March-a-thon was a fabulous start to this season! Currently the band has received $1508.73 in donations! Thank you to everyone who helped out, and raised money! If you still have donations please turn them in this week to Amy McPherson, or Mr. Grom.

The music notes turned out beautifully, a huge thank you to Jason Steele, Kelley Stillman, Marsha Fox, and Allison Fox for helping paint them and putting students names on them. They were also a huge success, and raised over $422.00!

Bingo also was covered this week thanks to Cathy Isenhart, Roger Hale, and Kristin Miller! Thank you all for stepping in on such short notice!

If your student ordered a new duffel bag they should be in by September 4th.

Good Afternoon!


Reminders!

March-a-thon is Friday August 21st 5pm-8pm. We will march down to Hyre to kick off the Ellet Raiders season and head back up to finish the march-a-thon.  Students should wear their "I survived" shirt, navy band shorts, and comfortable tennis shoes, no flip flops or sandals please!   Remember that who ever raises the most in donations gets to give Mr. Grom a pie in the face! 

We will also be painting our music notes at the stadium that night, cost is $10.00 for each student.  We will be collecting Thursday at practice, and on Friday during the painting process if you haven't had a chance to send in the flyer and the money.

Sadly, as many of you have heard, the Firestone Marching Band Trailer was vandalized yesterday inside and out.  There will be a clean-up tomorrow Monday August 17, 2015 from 5PM -9PM to help them clean up and repair this necessary piece of equipment for the marching season.

Good Morning Band Families!

What a fabulous week!  Thank you to all who came up and helped at Band Camp.  Whether you  baked, sewed, cleaned up, washed dishes, served lunch or dinner, donated food, cut up veggies and fruit, or stayed the night on Friday to help out, None of these things would be possible if you did not give your precious time to volunteer with Band Camp!

This week our schedule lightens up with post camp week.  The students will practice from 8AM -Noon on Tuesday through Thursday. 


Tuesday August 18, 2015 is Picture day. The Photographer from Tallmadge Photography will start at noon taking photos of the students. You received the photo information in your green band informational folder at the Band Camp parent meeting last Sunday.  Payment needs to be in the form of cash, credit card, or money orders only.  They do not accept checks.  Please insure your student brings their black socks and black marching shoes!


Our March-a-thon will begin at 5 PM on Friday August 21, 2015!  There has been a change to the location we will be marching to.  We will now march down to Hyre and preform at the Ellet Raiders stadium to help kick off their season.  Afterwards we will head back up to the High School to complete the march-a-thon.  The students need to wear their "I survived " shirts, navy band shorts, ball cap and comfortable tennis shoes.  No sandals or flip flops!  They also need to bring their pledge sheets and donations, as the student who raise the most in donations gets the honor of giving Mr. Grom a pie in the face!!!


Our music note fundraiser will also be done that night!  We will be painting music notes on the cement close to where the band sits in the stadium with your student's first name and last initial.  The cost for this is $10.00 and it is $5.00 for each additional band sibling.
We are off to a fabulous start this year!  Thank you for all your support, and lets keep this momentum going!!!

BAND CAMP TIME!!!

The time has arrived, its officially Band Camp Week!

Parents and students should arrive at Ellet Sunday, August 9th at 1PM.


Parents will attend an informative meeting in the Early Childhood Education room at Ellet, (look for all the cars fairly close to the stadium).  You will receive pertinent information relating to the activities your student will be involved in throughout the year and you will also be able to sign up to chaperone, or volunteer at our many activities and fundraisers.


Students- Remember your water bottle, dot book, music, instrument, sunscreen, and PENCIL!!!  

 Students will march to Eastgate Lanes after dinner for bowling.  They can be picked up there between 8-815 pm!

SUNSCREEN, MUSIC LYRE, PENCIL, WATER BOTTLE ,AND COMFORTABLE TENNIS SHOES!

MANDATORY PARENT MEETING AT 1:00PM IN THE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION ROOM.  IMPORTANT INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN OUT, AND SIGN UP SHEETS FOR CHAPERONES, BAND CAMP VOLUNTEERS, AND OTHER EVENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE!

WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST WITH THE WEEK OF BAND CAMP.  ANY TIME THAT YOU CAN COME UP AND HELP SERVE A MEAL, ASSIST IN CLEAN-UP IS APPRECIATED!  PLUS, YOU GET TO MEET SOME OTHER PARENTS AND GET TO SEE YOUR STUDENT HAVING FUN!  TO VOLUNTEER, PLEASE CONTACT:

Good Afternoon Band Family!


Just a few updates:  If you haven't already done so, the students t-shirt, shorts, duffel bags, medical consent forms and physicals are due.  We will be placing this order next Tuesday and we need your students sizes.  Please send this information in with your student to sectionals on Thursday July 16th.


There is also a March-a-thon planning meeting tomorrow evening July 16th at the McDonalds on East Market/Mogadore Road in Ellet at 6:30pm.  This is a great opportunity to meet some other band boosters and get involved.  Even if you can't spend time at events, we are always looking for bakers, crafty people, and anyone that just wants to help when they can.  Hope to see some of you there!

Fundraising opportunity!

Good morning Ellet band families!

A fundraising opportunity has been given to us by EAA!

ITS VERY SHORT NOTICE BUT WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING BASEBALL CAPS FOR THE MARCHING BAND STUDENTS TO WEAR IN THE STANDS AT FOOTBALL GAMES TO HELP KEEP OUR HELMETS FROM BEING DAMAGED'  AND EVERY LITTLE BIT WE RAISE HELPS MOVE US TOWARDS OUR GOALS!

We need 3 volunteers to work at the bingo hall this Sunday May 17,2015

We need you from 10:30-3:30.

We also will need 3 volunteers for Wednesday June 3, 2015 and June 7,2015

Upcoming important Band Events

Hello Band families.  It was wonderful to see so many of you tonight at the Band Camp Meeting!  I just wanted to update you on the events that are scheduled over the next few weeks.

April 23, 2015  Pops Concert at EHS @7:00PM

MAY 2, 2015   TAG DAY 10AM-2PM.   Students will wear their uniforms (time to dig out those marching shoes!).  There will be sign up sheets for the students posted in the band room.  We also need parent volunteers to assist at Ellet Acme, Walgreen's, Kmart, IGA and the Shell station on Albrecht.  Thank you in advance for your participation!

The Spaghetti Dinner will be this Saturday, March 21st 
at the Ellet Bingo Hall on East Market Street. 5:00pm-7:00pm

 3 and under free - child 4-10 $5.00 -  adult $7.00 

Hopefully, your child has shared the ticket information with you. 
We sure hope you will come and join us for a great dinner 
and try to win one of many gift baskets!

Tag Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd from 10am - 2pm.
